Procedure - Interscalene Block

15 mL ropivacaine 0.5% will be injected in 5 mL aliquots in order to achieve spread adjacent to C5 and C6 nerve roots.

Procedure - Placebo Block

0.5 ml of 1% lidocaine will be administered subcutaneously as a placebo injection.
